Maiden Film Premiere

On International Women’s Day (March 8), it is fitting that documentary Maiden sets sail. A remarkable piece of work, directed by Alex Holmes and produced by Victoria Gregory, that charts the journey of the all-female crew that competed in the Fifth Whitbread Round The World Yacht Race in 1989 and 1990. Sri Lanka

Maiden made another quick ‘pitstop’ into Sri Lanka to refuel and pick up supplies. She also picked up more crew and Skipper Nikki Henderson handed over the wheel to our next legendary Skipper, Wendy Tuck! Nikki and Wendy are old pas of course from the Clipper Race which saw Nikki take second place and Wendy became the first woman to WIN a round the world race. Maiden is on her way!

Maiden left Malta yesterday to begin her voyage to Kerala in India. The pit stop in Malta was absolutely amazing and Maiden was hosted by the inspirational Jarhead Young Sailors www.jarheadyoungsailorsmalta.org and Olwyn Foundation.  The crew had a few well deserved days off and Maiden had some issues sorted out.  There was a steady stream of visitors to see the boat and the crew which and we were made to feel extremely welcome.
